CBD, What Dose is Right for Me?

Cannabis has been used for centuries due to its beneficial properties. CBD users most commonly cite pain relief, reduced anxiety or feelings of depression, less inflammation or nausea, improved heart health, and better focus or sleep, as reasons for choosing CBD for their wellness needs.

In 2018, The Farm Bill legalized hemp-derived CBD and analysts predict the industry will reach $20 billion in the United States by 2025. Currently, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not regulate the use of CBD, nor do they provide recommendations for dosages.

Regardless of the condition, a proper dosage is essential for successful results, and with limited guidance; gauging the dosage size or frequency often creates challenges for users. Your body chemistry, weight, concentration of the CBD product, and what condition you are treating are a few factors to consider.

In addition, dividing up your CBD into microdoses can help sustain the effect. It also gives flexibility in the products being used. For example a few drops of a tincture in a cup of coffee during the morning, a gummy at lunch, and a softgel a few hours before bedtime.

CBD gummies or softgels, dosages are usually expressed per unit. For instance, there may be 25 milligrams of CBD in each individual softgel. These products do not offer dosage flexibility since you cannot split up softgels easily. For example, if one softgel does not provide your desired result, you would have to take another full softgel, doubling the dosage.

Tinctures, make administering CBD easier to start with smaller doses or microdoses. Calculating CBD tincture dosages can be complicated. Tinctures come in a dropper bottle and, usually, only the total liquid volume and CBD contents are listed on the product label. The label may simply state there are 1,350 milligrams of CBD in the 30-milliliter bottle.

But what does 1 milliliter look like? Calculations can be difficult. Our CBD tinctures mark these points on the dropper so you know how much you are consuming and take the guesswork out of your hands. There are brands that do not provide markings, here is a helpful equation for selecting the right dosage.
Start by figuring out the volume of a single drop in your dropper, normally 0.05 milliliters.

Measurements

This is where some math needs to be applied. Let’s use our 30-milliliter bottle tincture with 1,350 milligrams of CBD and 0.05 milliliters in a single drop as an example.

1350mg÷30mL = 45 mg/mL
The bottle contains 45 milligrams of CBD per milliliter.

Now, calculate how many milligrams are in a drop:

45mg/mL ×0.05mL/drop = 2.25mg/drop
Each drop contains 2.25 milligrams of CBD.

Lastly, you need to decide how many drops are required to reach your optimal dosage. A person wanting to consume 25 milligrams each day would use the following equation:

25mg÷2.25mg/drop = 11 drops
11 drops ×2.25mg = 0.5mL

Based on the CBD dosage calculator, you would need to consume 11 drops, or 0.5 milliliters, to reach 25 milligrams. If you wish to consume 25 milligrams daily, you can expect that one of our bottles would serve as a 60-Day supply. As a monthly subscriber, 6 bottles would be shipped to you annually to achieve your desired results.

Prior to using any cannabis product; consult a physician, do some research, and choose a quality source by examining the product's COA(Certificate of Analysis) to ensure that it has been tested for purity, and is free of THC or harmful contaminants.
